Design before birth of daughter.


TRAINING

Isobel Dunn School of Dance & Drama, York. 1973-1986.
Certificated Sculpture Course, Guildford. 1989.
Counselling at Brighton & Hove Womens' Centre. 1990.
Mime training with Trestle Theatre Co. 1991.
Currently undertaking a City & Guilds accredited Radio Techniques
course, covering all aspects of interviewing, editing & production.


EXPERIENCE

Voluntary worker at Brighton & Hove Womens' Centre, 1991-1992.
Duties & qualities for the job include non-prejudiced listening skills, an understanding and knowledge of problems women face, with the ability to analyse and recognise possible solutions.
Chosen to represent Brighton & Hove Womens' Centre at the 'Shelter National Conference on Homelessness', London 1990.
Published article on Women & Homelessness for the 'Brighton In The 90's.' booklet, 1990.
Researched and fully illustrated the 'Bernard The Witch' children's book manuscript. 1992-1993.
Volunteered to join Hospital Arts Community Action Scheme, Brighton.1994-1995. Duties included puppet-making & craft therapy.
Spin-offs from the scheme include; playing 'Rowena' in the Fringe Theatre production of 'Merry Be' at the Nightingale Theatre, 1995, exhibiting , fund-raising & invigilating for 'Colourballoo' an exhibition of contemporary art by twelve Brighton artists, 1995.
Also played 'Narrator' in 'The Thwarted Tangentialist', 1995, and exhibited in the 'Mindscapes' Art Exhibition, Hove 1995.


ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

From age 2-15 appeared in two productions per year at York Theatre Royal & York Rowntree Theatre.
Since age 16 have written and performed with many types of bands ranging from Punk to Performance based Dance.
From 1989 to the present have produced and sold many designs, ranging from badges & magic props to murals.
Have also earned a 'bob' or two as a Recruitment Rep, for Avon Cosmetics, (one step up from being an Avon-Lady) a Fire-Eating Performance Artist, (one step down from being an Avon-Lady) and by being an Avon-Lady (!).
When not working I am usually to be found either in the gym or at home with my daughter, Phillippa age seven, our three cats, chinchilla and the odd toad or arachnid.
